Updates and Bug Fixes


I was taking another look at HellTrain while working on an expansion for it and noticed quite a few things that needed changing.

The main thing I noticed was that there was no reason to take the revolver because the tomahawk, Gatling gun, and lasso were all objectively better. I made the revolver hit harder, nerfed the Gatling's +d tag (renaming it to "Hand Gatling" in the process), nerfed the lasso's damage, and clarified the rules around the tomohawk's return tag so that it requires an action to make it come back to you. I think this will make the revolver feel viable. Here's the new weapons text:

  • Space Tomahawk: 3 damage, Melee Range, throw, return
  • Revolver: 3 damage, Bullet Range
  • Shotgun: 5 damage, Shrapnel Range
  • Rifle: 4 damage, Hell Range, precise 2
  • Hand Gatling: 2 damage, Bullet Range, +3d
  • Cyber Lasso: 1 damage, Bullet Range, hook 2

I then updated the weapon stats in the enemy list to match these changes and to make some fixes to stats and formatting errors I noticed.

Like I said at the top, this is all in preparation of an expansion. This expansion, titled HellTrain: Devils of Perdition will include more ways to explore the prison planet of Perdition than just riding on the back of a train and opportunities to be on the other side of the law. There will be some light vehicle rules, new character options, and a hex map of Perdition. I'm not sure what the release on that will be yet, but a lot of it is written.
