1e
A downloadable game
I found it! The first ever fantasy roleplaying game, 1e! It was lying at the bottom of a locked chest in the dusty basement of a house that was abandoned in the 70s. I have edited it, slapped on some public domain art, and re-packaged it for your pleasure so you can easily play it with your friends.
I definitely did not just write my own thing inspired by games like 6e by Batts, 5E: The Roleplaying Game by Lyme, or A Dragon Game or a dungeon game by Chris Bissette. Nope. This is totally real treasure from roleplaying’s past.
Presented in both a cramped one-page version and a multi-page version with some public domain art.
Featuring
4 Schticks: Soldier, Thief, Wizard, and Saint
No Hit points: If something manages to hit you, you die! Make a new character!
29 Monster: From goblins, to giant spiders, to liches, to dragons. You'd think it would be an even 30, but there just wasn't room for it.
Authentic, Old School Experience: As well as no hit points, everything is super streamlined so you spend more time on the fun and less time checking the rules.
Want more help getting started than "go play cards with a troll"? Check out Dead Wizard's Tower, a level 0 (and the first ever) adventure for 1e.

A wonderfully snarky take on the "game". It has inspired me to complete my game, 23E. I look forward to paying royalties to all previous 22 editions!
This game mentions character levels, an idea that I created when I wrote the world's best roleplaying game, 5E. I know I published 5E under a creative commons license but I changed my mind and would now like 25% of your revenue from this game.
Oh dang. I know there’s no way I can fight your team of lawyers, so I’ll go dig up the author and mail you his gold fillings right away. That should cover your share of profits for the day it’s been out.
